Relating to the newlyweds in this example is as follows:
The elk antler for the May born whose animal totem is of the deer family.  The elk quality is strength and nobility, stamina and speed. It teaches you to pace yourself to reach your destiny without burning out.

The mineral totem is the agate. A crazy lace agate is inserted into the pipe stem and a pink agate into the bowl.  The May born is represented by the color orange, which is integrated into the beadwork in the Native American pattern of the teepee that represents the home. The May born belongs to the butterfly clan. The butterfly, according to the legend, is the one who brings dreams to sleep. They represent softness and gentleness, rebirth, regeneration, happiness, joy and the ability to accept change.

Pipes by Agara Little BuffaloThe snakeskin (western diamond rattler) is for the November born. Mysterious and intuitive the snake stands for transformation, represented by the shedding of the skin. The November born mineral totem is the amethyst which is inserted into the pipe bowl and stem. The color is violet, also woven into the beadwork in the teepee pattern. November born also belongs to the frog clan which deals with spiritual sensitivity and included is the turquoise stone which stands for truth and purification, while the red and white coral represents water and birth. Also integrated is some coyote fur. Coyote is said to trick the learner into the lesson, going on the notion that things are not as they seem until the lesson is learned and the wisdom gained. He tricks himself into moving through spiritual quests in such a way that the lessons cannot be ignored. His humor is a great medicine. To laugh at ourselves is to be blessed with understanding. The owl feather represents wisdom, tolerance, optimism and awareness.

Pipes by Agara Little BuffaloCeremony:
In the Native American ceremony, the pipe is held into the four directions praising the Great Spirit and then lit and smoked with three puffs by each member. This is for purification and new commitment and is a powerful tool for new beginnings, new seeing, and accomp-lishments. It helps to strengthen your bonds and brings you to what each of you love to become. The ceremony marries the elements of elk, air and fire to snake, water and earth and can be used to ask for help in the spirit world and in the quest for truth, which brings you to your own knowing of the heart. Chanting is also done to open up and praise the Great Spirit.

By cherishing this pipe it will gain in spirit power over time as it becomes more alive and charged with energy. Take good care of it and it will become a part of you.
