This pipe incorporates elements and totems from each partner, making it a one of a kind ceremonial pipe and unique to each couple. The pictures here are one example of a Ceremonial Wedding Pipe. This 25" long pipe has a 4" x 3" walnut bowl with turquoise, pink agate and amethyst inlay.
The stem is 21" in length and made from burnt pine. The stem is wrapped with deer hide, highlighted with an amethyst and crazy lace agate insert. The center section is covered with western diamond rattler snakeskin and deer antler. Beadwork along the stem symbolizes the teepee (home), with both partners totem color. Coyote fur wraps around the pipe and a turquoise inlay sits close to the mouthpiece, which is wrapped with yarn.
There are two red and yellow golden pheasant tassels attached to a red coral and buffalo bone bead necklace with one red and one orange top pheasant feather and painted owl feather.
It comes with two stands in an aromatic cedar box lined with 100% wool felt.
A deer skin pouch is included with tobacco kninickinic and five extra screens and pipe cleaners. |

The mineral totem is the agate. A crazy lace agate is inserted into the pipe stem and a pink agate into the bowl. The May born is represented by the color orange, which is integrated into the beadwork in the Native American pattern of the teepee that represents the home. The May born belongs to the butterfly clan. The butterfly, according to the legend, is the one who brings dreams to sleep. They represent softness and gentleness, rebirth, regeneration, happiness, joy and the ability to accept change. |
