The classic brass pipe ax is a replica of a tomahawk pipe from the traders in the early 18th century found in the Ohio Valley. It is engraved brass with a heavy steel insert dove tail at the edge of the blade. It has a hardwood handle hollowed out for smoking. Blade engraved with medicine hand symbol and bear claw. Genuine bear claws, bear fur, turqoise, bone beads and pheasant feather with seed beads and leather strap make this art piece a collectors must. Leather bag is gold buckskin with bead rosette and black horse tail tassel. Outfitted with a metal medallion for lacing it closed and a hedge webbing strap for carrying.

The pipe is 23" long with a 4" x 3" walnut bowl with an amber stone inlay. The stem has a bear design stitched in the center to genuine black bear fur, wrapped with leather, color dyed with natural clay color symbolizing the Four Directions in red, yellow, white and black. The mouthpiece has an amber stone inlay, four genuine bear claws attached to the side and bottom and a turquoise, red coral, buffalo bone bead decoration. Accented with red and yellow golden pheasant tassel, red and orange tip pheasant feather, painted owl and painted eagle feather. All are displayed in an aromatic cedar box with 100% wool felt lining plus two display stands. Five pipe cleaners and screens are included. This box has two leather ornaments where the two stands attach for display.
